The Arborg & District multicultural Heritage Village is Proud new owner of a nation plaque that was unveiled on August 22, 2014 at 11:00 am.

This plaque was part of the National 100 Plaque Project that was put into effect to raise awareness of the the Ukrainian-Canadians as well as many Italians, Germans, Serbians, Armenians, etc that were put into one of 24 different internment camps all across Canada during both of the World Wars and also the Quebec crisis of 1970. These people were forced into slave labour, had to report to authorities on a weekly basis, and got their civil rights stripped from them not because they committed any felony, but because of who they were and where they came from. 100 communities across Canada were chosen to unveil a plaque identical to ours at the very same time to honour those who were treated unfairly. We were extremely honoured to have been chosen to be a home for the plaque. It has been mounted in our interpretive center for all to see.
